FiberStrength is a biotech company specialized in biofiber production from bamboo plants. The company was founded in 2019, with a mission to contribute to sustainable development in the industry, by combining biofiber resources with high-tech engineering technology.

FiberStrength will produce high-quality oriented strand boards (OSB) based on bamboo fibers for the building and construction industry. Our technology is developed to maximize the utilization of the bamboo plant, while ensuring a sustainable production and recyclable products. FiberStrength is dedicated to sustainable harvesting and certification. From 5 tons of bamboo, we produce 4.5 tons of boards – where the residual dust is used to generate heat for the drying process. Branches and other waste are turned into valuable soil enrichment to reduce inorganic input. FiberStrength is closely aligned with several of the UN Sustainable Development Goals, and we work continuously to maximize our positive impact in our day to day contribution to the community.
Why bamboo?
Manufacturers and constructors around the world are searching for recyclable reinforcement fibers and building materials. With a superior strength, versatility and durability, bamboo fibers represent an excellent substitute for the traditional industrial reinforcement fibers of steel, glass and carbon. Bamboo is characterized by superior green properties including recyclability and sustainable production.
- Fast growth: Bamboo grows 12 times faster than trees from tropical hardwood forests, and replaces 30%of its own biomass in one year, whereas a hardwood forest can only replace 3-5%.
- Sustainable harvest and renewal: As bamboo is harvested, it very quickly recovers. Provided it is properly maintained, many bamboo timbers can continue uninterrupted production for an average of 30 years without replanting.
- Low carbon footprint: Planting bamboo forests is one of the best carbon credit values in the world. Bamboo releases 35% more oxygen than other forests, which makes it invaluable for reducing the carbon dioxide gases blamed for global warming. One hectare of bamboo forest can absorb 12-17 tons of CO2 from the air.
Our new state of art production facility will be setup in Balipara, Assam in the North East of India. It will be the first OSB (oriented strand boards) factory in the world that use bamboo fiber as raw material input. We are very excited for the times ahead, and look forward to contribute to a green future for the construction industry.
